Annual Day 2014 - Infant Jesus High School

Training 1500 kids single handedly for the annual day choreographed to the theme - 'Change Yourself to Change the World' was an absolutely amazing experience. Using styles like Bollywood Jazz, Contemporary Dance, African Jazz, Classical Dance and other Indian Folk Dances we managed to keep the audience on their toes through the entire night. Audience of around 10,000 guests including dignitaries from other reputed schools in Pune City.

RUN

"When is it time to say goodbye and start all over? Do you embrace change while he goes out of his way to avoid it? Or do you wait for the other to evolve so that you don't have to turn tables? When you have nowhere to go to, maybe all you can do is 'Run' "

Choreographed by Swapnil Dagliya
Performed by Swapnil Dagliya & Pranali Dhaware
Style - Contemporary Dance Theatre (Adapted to the site)

SHAKUNTALA - EXCERPT

Swapnil's Performing Arts & Contemporary Ensemble (SPACE) presents Shakuntala: An alluring contemporary dance theatre performance. It is a visual seduction that tells the story of the beautiful Shakuntala, daughter of Sage Vishwamitra and Enchantress from heaven Menaka. Inspired by the tale from the greatest Indian epic of all times –the Mahabharata; this theatrical extravaganza is a fictional retelling with a contemporary outlook. Marrying traditional methods of classical Indian story telling with modern ways of interpretative and improvisational dance choreography,

Shakuntala represents a woman of today. But what has really changed since the epic was written? Does her struggle; her raw emotion and the fact that she expresses her self truly make her more real? Or does her make a woman that the society wouldn’t identify with? You decide.

TUM HI HO

Song: Tum Hi Ho
Original Soundtrack: Aashiqui 2
Choreographed by: Swapnil Dagliya
Dancers: Swapnil Dagliya, Pranali Dhaware, Arun Bhardwaj & Kavita Bhuniwal

A song that I was very unlikely to choose but loved the way the choreography blossomed. Hope you guys like it too. Thank you for watching.

SHAKUNTALA - FIRST LOOK

Swapnil's Performing Arts & Contemporary Ensemble (SPACE) presents Shakuntala - an alluring contemporary dance theatre performance. It is a visual seduction that tells the story of the beautiful Shakuntala; daughter of Sage Vishwamitra and enchantress from heaven Menaka.

Inspired by the tale from the greatest Indian epic of all times –the Mahabharata; this theatrical extravaganza is a fictional retelling with a contemporary outlook.

Marrying traditional methods of classical Indian story telling with modern ways of interpretative and improvisational dance choreography, Shakuntala will represent the woman of today. Raising some potent questions like; What has really changed since the epic was written? Does her struggle; her raw emotion and the fact that she expresses herself rather than being meek and timid make her more real? Or does that make her a woman that the society wouldn’t identify with? You decide.
